duPont REGISTRY December 2017duPont REGISTRY GEAR
Welcome to the last issue of duPont REGISTRY for 2017. It’s been another great year with great customers, readers and a team here at duPont REGISTRY that is second to none.
During the excitement of this Holiday Season, it is important not to forget those who are less fortunate than us. Here at duPont REGISTRY Headquarters, we conduct an annual Toys for Tots Christmas gift campaign throughout the year with the final “gathering” at our November Cars & Coffee. After that we combine the generosity of our fellow enthusiasts with a year-long effort to raise funds to provide gifts to children who otherwise might have a pretty empty Christmas. Thanks to all who participated and helped put a smile on a future auto-enthusiast’s face.
While we are on the subject of graciousness, philanthropic and charitable participation, I would like to report on the leadership of the Barrett-Jackson Auction team. Back in October, in Las Vegas, they auctioned off Steve Davis’ (President, Barrett-Jackson) personal Shelby Mustang Super Snake for the benefit of the families of Las Vegas first responders -- 100% of the proceeds went to the fund, intended to help those families whose loved ones have been injured providing safety and security for Las Vegas. The winning bid was $1,000,000, a clearly generous gift, given the horrific event in Las Vegas this past fall. Barrett-Jackson Auctions provided the opportunity to raise this gift and lift the spirits of that beleaguered town. It was a moment in time that I will not forget, nor will the thousands of people in the auction arena, watching on TV and hearing about the event. Carolyn and Craig Jackson, Steve Davis, and the entire Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas team, thank you for your spectacular leadership and generosity. #LasVegasStrong.
To the rest of the world, may the blessings of this season bring warmth and smiles to your families, your friends, and your communities. Please join us in reaching out to those less fortunate than us at this special time and always when there is a need.
Happy Motoring, and Merry Christmas!

P.S. For those of you looking for unique and fabulous gifts for your friends and family, please turn to pages 34-41 to take a look at our 2017 Gift Guide. Our team has painstakingly assembled some fantastic ideas for the person who has “everything”, but still needs something. Be sure to take note of the handmade headphones by Pryma (for the music fan), the Tutima Classic Chronograph watch (for the punctual person on your list) and the custom-made shuffleboard tables by Venture Games (for the final touch on the sports/game room). Who knows – maybe you will even find a “little something” for yourself. Happy Shopping!
P.P.S. Want to get somewhere in a hurry? The Cover Car is the unbelievably powerful Porsche 911 GT2 RS -- capable of 0-60 in 2.7 seconds. It combines power, precision, agility, speed and endurance… all for slightly less than $300,000. Wow! See “unCovered” on pages 96-97.
