2018!!! Can you believe it? Another year gone by and another great year is just in front of us.
Let’s try a few predictions:
- Focus: It’s going to be the year of focus. Everything is moving so fast that we will all have to focus on the task in front of us.
- Everywhere: Everywhere you turn there will be something going on, so go ahead and clone yourself so you can be everywhere.
- Marketing: Promoting your products will require a marketing plan that includes four legs -- print, digital, social media, events. Guess where you can get all four? That’s right - duPont REGISTRY.
As far as print goes, you are holding it. After over 32 years, the duPont REGISTRY is still the best place to go for a 4-color perfect bound, glossy paper MAGAZINE. Digital, of course, includes our website – dupontREGISTRY.com - and Autofluence (the site for our latest updates in the automotive world.) Social media - all things being equal, social media (which includes Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and the next new, yet unknown social media network) will practically run the world. And, last but certainly not least, events from coast to coast. The list of auto-enthusiast extravaganzas is endless, but here are a few big ones in the first quarter of the year.
Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale, Arizona: The focal point of all things automotive in January, the blockbuster auction will feature over 1,500 cars, a sponsor and vendor display that is second to none, and thousands of auto-aficionados with whom you simply must connect. January 13 to January 21, and, don’t forget the duPont REGISTRY/LIVE at the W! The duPont REGISTRY will be there - will you?
In February, the automotive world will focus on Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance. Now in its 12th year, the duPont REGISTRY/LIVE will be at the Boca Raton Airport on Friday night, February 23. Tim Allen is the guest celebrity at the Saturday night Gala, February 24 and Jay Leno returns Sunday, February 25 as a special celebrity judge. His BIG DOG Awards will be presented Sunday afternoon. This is an event not to be missed.
The first quarter of 2018 is packed with many, many events, but the closer is the 23rd Annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. Known as “The Amelia”, this fabulous 3-day auto extravaganza starts on Friday and ends with the Concours on Sunday. Last year I referred to “The Amelia” as “the always fair-weather Sunday Concours.” Well, weather-wise, it was a brilliant display of enthusiasm, coordination and execution that left smiles on everyone’s faces. This means that “The Amelia” is always sunny, never gloomy, no matter what the weather or the date. I would be greatly remiss if I did not again congratulate Bill Warner and his team on another unmatched event. The duPont REGISTRY will be there in 2018 and so should you. Join us in our hospitality chalet on Sunday (advance invitation required) and look for our trailer and our magazines at the entrance to the Concours field.
In this issue, you will not want to miss the “Uncovered” feature on the “Intensa Emozione”. This unusual cover car is the epitome of modern, pure, yet nostalgic styling in a sensory experience. Mostly crafted from carbon fiber, the Intensa Emozione(IE) weights in at only 2,755 pounds with a 780 hp, 6.3 liter V12 power plant. There will be only 10 available at $2.7 million each.
