Monterey Car Week is the automotive world’s Christmas, a celebration of speed, style, and spectacle that takes over California’s picturesque peninsula. From the most exclusive auctions to jaw-dropping displays of exotic, luxury, and motorsports machinery, it’s a sensory overload where it’s hard to say what shines brighter: the mechanical masterpieces or the stunning scenery that surrounds them.

Of course, not everyone can be there in person. That’s why this month’s duPont REGISTRY is dedicated to bringing you the essence of this four-wheeled festival. But we start this issue with a groundbreaking reveal from McLaren, as the British supercar manufacturer seeks to underline its recent Formula 1 success with a new attack on the most famous sports car race on the planet, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

We also take a closeup look at another manufacturer that’s rocking the supercar world, as Chevrolet launches its 1250-horsepower Corvette ZR1X. For the niche connoisseur, there’s the one-of-one Peralta S, which channels the classic Maserati Boomerang concept with the modern MC20 to create a startling collision of the past and present!

In our DRIVE section, Michael Teo Van Runkle journeys to Ibiza to sample Maybach’s SL 680 Monogram Series, exploring just how sporty this opulent Mercedes soft-top dares to be. Basem Wasef inspects Bentley’s EXP 15 concept, which opens the door to the British brand’s long-awaited entry into the fully electrified space, while Ed Jones commemorates a trio of Shelby American milestones.

In LIVE, I get the lowdown on an incredible miniaturization of the first-ever all-Japanese car to win a Formula 1 race, as Honda Racing Corporation partners with world-renowned model maker Amalgam Collection to celebrate the RA272’s landmark success on its 60th anniversary. The real thing is on display at Laguna Seca, part of the Rolex Monterey Motorsport Reunion’s F1 75 display that is explained in detail by its curator Ellen Bireley, while Jordan Aquistapace handpicks the perfect Rolexes to match each of Car Week’s headline events.

Finally, in our SELL section, we showcase a curated selection of the world’s finest exotic, classic, and luxury automobiles – and shine the spotlight on Enthusiast Auto Group, specialists in preserving BMW’s magical M cars. Andrew Riedell analyzes the Ferrari F50, which celebrates its 30th anniversary at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering.

From one-off supercar debuts and historic motorsport moments to collector-grade watches and stunning concept cars, this issue captures the excitement, innovation, and passion that defines Monterey Car Week’s luxury automotive world.

Happy reading, and as always, drive safely!
